Free Bridal Shower Games
There are lots of free bridal shower games that you can use to help your guests enjoy themselves. These games are an exciting and fun feature of the bridal shower party and serve as great ice breakers, helping everyone to get to know one another.
Here is the first of our free bridal shower games …
The Name Tag game - this is a great game with which to start the party as it encourages your guests to mingle and get to know each other.
Everyone wears a tag with their name printed on it and also a wedding related word that can be something like: ring, reception, bouquet, cake, groom etc. You are not allowed to say the wedding word on your tag even though your fellow guests will try to make you say it.
If you do, then give your tag to the person that got you to say the word. Now, if you manage to acquire someone else’s tag, the same rule applies, you are not allowed to say the wedding word printed on that tag either.
Set a time limit for this game (usually the end of the shower) and the person who has the most tags is the winner.
Here are some more examples of free bridal shower games…
Bridal Word Scramble – this is always a popular ‘quiz’ game. Make a long list of wedding related words or phrases, now for each of these words mix up the letters - for example: for one of your phrases you could use ‘idlbra wrheso’. Answer = bridal shower
Now on a sheet of paper list all of the scrambled up words and phrases. Give your guests a pencil, set them a time limit (say five minutes) and get them to unscramble the words. The guest with the most correct answers wins the game!
The Famous Couples game – on a sheet of paper list the names of one half of a famous couple, your guests need to write down the names of the missing partners. For instance if you listed Rhett Butler, your guests need to identify Scarlett O’Hara as the other half of this famous couple.
Other good examples you could use as entries would be: Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Robin Hood and Maid Marion, Homer and Marge Simpson, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Ike and Tina Turner, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, Herman and Lily Muster.
Again, set your guests a time limit, and the person who gets the most couples correct is the winner.
Bridal Bingo – you play it just like ordinary bingo but instead of using numbers the game cards are filled with words that relate to the wedding theme, like: husband, wife, marriage, dress, vows, bride, reception, honeymoon, bridesmaid, etc.
Make up the cards ahead of time and for each word used, write it on a piece of paper and place it into a bowl. During the game, draw out a word from the bowl and read it aloud so that each guest can it mark off their card - the first person to complete an entire row, either horizontally or diagonally, wins the game.
If you surf the Internet you should find some web sites that have game cards and associated word lists that are free for you to print out and use.
We hope you have found these ideas for free bridal shower games helpful and that you try them out… have fun. ;o)
